I am looking for students and researchers at various levels with interest in one or more of the following areas to join my group: control systems, machine learning, power and energy, or transportation networks.

PhD students/postdocs

If you are interested in pursuing a PhD in my group, please apply to the Purdue IE graduate program, and mention me in your research statement. Please also send me an email with your CV and the research areas in my group that interest you. If you are interested in pursuing a postdoc, email me directly with your CV and research interests. Ideally, I am looking for candidates with (i) a strong mathematical background in control theory, optimization, or machine learning, and an interest in the applications of these areas to large-scale networks, and (ii) experience in coding for machine learning/control systems in Python or MATLAB.

Note: The deadline for admissions into the Fall ’22 Purdue IE graduate program for priority financial support is December 15, 2021!

Undergraduate/Master’s students

If you are interested in undergraduate research in my group, please email me with your CV and the research areas in my group that you find interesting. If you are interested in pursuing a Master’s thesis, please apply to the Purdue IE graduate program, and mention me in your application. If you are already admitted to the IE Master’s program, please email me with your CV and research interests. Unfortunately, I do not have guaranteed funding for undergraduate and Master’s students at this time. However, I can offer supervision for research credits.

Visiting students/researchers

I can consider applications for visiting students or researchers on a case-by-case basis. Please email me with your CV and research interests.
